Customer Service/Front of House Personnel

CUSTOMER SERVICE / FRONT OF HOUSE PERSONNEL

ESSENTIAL REQUIREMENT:
You must:

• Have proof of right to work in the UK
• Be able to converse in English
• Must possess basic Maths and English qualification

JOB DESCRIPTION

Your main duties could include:
• Serving Caribbean food and drinks
• Giving advice about food content and menu choice
• Working quickly and accurately to maximise sales
• Keeping the eating and serving areas clean and tidy
• Operating the till – taking cash and card payments and giving 
out change and receipts
• Operating vending machines such as coffee-makers
• Refilling hot food containers and other service stations
• Handling customer enquiries, comments and complaints
• Clearing tables, dishwashing and other cleaning duties.
• Some light food preparation.

Working hours and conditions

Full time work, part time and seasonal work is available as per business requirements This may include evenings, weekends and split-shifts. Restaurants and kitchens can be hot, noisy and very busy, and you would be on your feet for long periods.
You would need a high level of personal hygiene and a smart appearance. Healthy Eaters will provide uniform and training where applicable.

Income

Starting salary of £8.00 per hour.

Entry requirements

Previous experience in hospitality, catering or customer service would give you an advantage. The following qualifications may also be useful:

▪ Level 2 Award in Food Safety in Catering. (obtained within the last 3 years)

Training and development

You would be trained on the job by experienced members of staff.
Whichever setting you work in, you could be expectd to be trained in areas such as customer service and food safety. You may also be encouraged to work towards qualifications such as:

• Level 2 (NVQ) Diploma in Hospitality Services
